    Bhubaneswar is considered as the nerve centre for the entire state of Odisha. It’s one of those rapidly growing cities of eastern India which has greater regional influence after Kolkata. Bhubaneswar is also a major tourist destination in eastern India due to presence of numerous temples within the city. Strategic location of Bhubaneswar, close proximity to the golden quadrilateral, makes it one of the promising destination for the future development. Now to continue and maintain this development trends for the future years to come, it is very crucial to have good public transit system along with good transit infrastructure.

    In its smart city proposal, Bhubaneswar has envisaged to become a city with sustainable mobility choices and afterward the city has taken up various developmental projects to change the city’s futurescape with prioritizing the public transportation over private transportation. Success and efficiency of a good public transportation system also depends upon the infrastructure provided along with it.

    • Current Status: Disbursement going on based on BDA’s request. Expected date of Completion - December’ 2022.
  • 2. Reclamation & Peripheral Development of Ramalingeswar Tank Water Body in Berhampur (Phase-II) :

    • Sambalpur town at present does not have a Sewerage System. Consequently, it not only creates an adverse health and hygiene conditions for residents of the town, but also pollutes river Mahanadi due to direct sewage discharge to the river.
    • For improving the quality of life, safety of the people in the town and abatement of pollution of River Mahanadi, Sewerage System is proposed at Bhatra which includes Sewerage Treatment Plant (42 MLD), 11 nos. Pumping Stations, Raising Mains of 26 kms and Distribution Network of 150 kms. Apart from these, other components such as Construction of Toilets, Dhobi Ghat etc. have also been proposed.
    • Current Status: EPC Contractor has been appointed and Construction work is in progress, expected to be completed by January 2020
  • 11. Augmentation of Water Supply to Gopalpur NAC

    • Gopalpur is one of the major tourist attraction spots in the State of Odisha, apart from Puri, because of its attractive sea beach. The existing Water Supply connection coverage is of only 24% of the population.
    • The Project proposes to augment the existing Water Supply for Gopalpur NAC through transmission of water from the tapping point of Rushikulya Joint Water Supply System to an existing hill top reservoir thereby connecting to Distribution Network. The Augmentation of Water Supply to Gopalpur NAC is proposed with a design period of 30 years.
    • The Project includes Laying of Gravity Mains, Pumping Main pipeline of 2600 m, Construction of Underground Reservoir of 4.50 Lakhs litres capacity
    • Current Status: Project commissioned July 2017.
  • 12. Improvement of Water Supply to Greater Berhampur

    • The objective of the Project is to improve the distribution system and provide 24x7 water supply in the BeMC area for a 30 year period till 2045. This Project is the upstream Project of JaniviliAnicut to Berhampur and envisages 100% coverage of population though Piped Water Supply System & increase in duration of supply, reduction of non-revenue water.
    • The project includes: Transmission mains to UGRs, Construction of intake well, 17 nos. Elevated Storage Reservoirs, 10 nos. Underground Reservoirs, 21 nos. Pump houses, Distribution pipeline of 232.009 Km
    • Current Status: Project Completed.
  • 13. Reclamation and Peripheral Development of 3 Water Bodies in Berhampur

    • The Project proposes Reclamation of three Water Bodies in Berhampur viz. Ramlingeswar Tank, and Haradakhandi Tank. This would lead to recharge of ground water, control pollution and enable environmental and ecological balance.
    • The Project would include removal of weeds, silt and the dumped garbage from the tank, strengthening of embankments and providing fencing around the periphery of the tank. In addition to the core reclamation component, peripheral development is proposed in Ramlingeswar Tank and Agula Tank and would include recreational as well as revenue generating activities such as boat rides, shops for financial sustainability of the Project.
    • Current Status: Construction work is going on , expected to be completed by June 2020
  • 14. Construction of two Fish Markets in Sambalpur

    • The objective of the proposed Project is to set up modern Wet Markets to provide hygienic environment for sale of fish in the Municipal Area and curb the polluting effect of existing fish markets with respect to disposal of the waste generated by providing effluent treatment plant at the proposed market premises. It is proposed to set up two fish markets at Danipali and Kamalibazar with 24 and 27 shops respectively.
    • Current Status: Project has been completed at Danipalli and Kamlibazar. Construction of ETP is in progress expected to be completed by June 2020.
  • 15. Reclamation of 14 Water Bodies in Bhubaneswar

    • The objective of the Project is to carry out Reclamation of 14 Water Bodies in Bhubaneswar with an estimated area of about 50 acre. The Water bodies in the First phase include Nilakantha Pond-Patia, Masjid Pond, Sadhua Pond-Jeypur, MaaUgulamani Pond, GadakanaPokhari, Bhotapada Tank, Jena Sahi, Balunkeswar Tank, Fishery Pond-Laxmisagar, Kapileswar Pond, JharaPokahri-Jagamara, BadaPokhari-Begunia, Bhaguia Pond-Jadupur, SundarpadaHaja.
    • The reclamation work would include De-weeding, De-silting, Inlet/Outlet renovation/construction, strengthening of embankments and some peripheral developments.
    • Current Status: Construction completed for 12 Water Bodies, remaining 2 to be completed by March 2020.
  • 16. Reclamation of 7 Water Bodies in Sambalpur

    • It is proposed to develop 12 nos. of modern and hygienic Meat Shops at Ghatikia. The meat vendors who are running their traditional shops will be relocated to the market. The proposed Wet Market will also act as a downstream facility for the Modern Abattoir being implemented by BMC at Gadakana.
    • Current Status: Project Completed allotment of Shops to be done

    • CMC is mandated by Order of the Hon’ble High Cuttack to create a Vending Zone to reduce congestion and facilitate proper Traffic Management near SCB Medical College in Cuttack.
    • The Project concerns relocating owners of temporary shops in the area who have been carrying on business for about last 20 to 30 years, in the specific Vending Zone with around 56 nos. Vending Units which is being constructed. The Project proposes to maintain clean and hygienic conditions in and around the Vending Zone and prevention of garbage accumulation at site.
    • Current Status: Construction has been completed and 37 shops out of 56 has been allotted. Case pending at Odisha High Court.
  • 20. Construction of Sewerage System of Rourkela Town – East

    • The Project proposes a Sewerage Treatment Plant of 8 MLD based on Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) technology. The sewerage system for Roureka East also comprises of Sewerage Network of 46.4 Km and 3 Pumping Stations
    • Current Status: Construction to be completed by January 2020.
  • 21. Construction of Sewerage System of Rourkela Town – West

  • 25.Energy Efficient Street Lighting Projects in 5 Municipalities in Odisha (Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Rourkela & Sambalpur)

  • 26.Solid Waste Management (SWM) Project at Berhampur

    The Project entails implementation of Solid Waste Management Project at Berhampur by Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) on Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) basis with provision of Secondary Transportation, Treatment and Disposal of Solid Waste in Municipal Area of BeMC and such other adjoining area as may be incorporated within the municipal limit of BeMC during the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) period of 20 years. The Project shall be located at Mahuda, around 15 km from the central point of the city. The objectives of BeMC through this Project include:

    • Establishment and operation of an efficient secondary collection and transportation system
    • Processing facility to ensure segregation and treatment of waste
    • Scientific treatment and disposal of rejects in compliance with relevant Rules

    Current Status: Project is expected to be completed by 31-06-20

  • 27. Greenfield Street Lighting Projects in 113 ULBs in Odisha

    • Total Project Cost (TPC) Rs.26,452  lakh ; OUIDF Loan and Grant Rs.3,967 lakh each.
    • The Street Lighting PPP Project involves installation of light point with Energy Efficient LED Luminaires for improved public street light services with lowest O&M Cost in the following ULBs.
